They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Sally Pearson’s fall during the recent Rome leg of the World Athletics Diamond League left her with a broken and dislocated wrist. It struck me later that for Sally and athletes like her the risk of injury was an acceptable part of the job.

Here at Construct Health we treat plenty of work-related injuries and some are equally as horrific but in most cases steps, external and otherwise, are put in place to render the risk manageable.  Apart from being fit and highly skilled Sally is on her own – no crash mat, no protective padding or helmet – nothing. Think about running full tilt at a hurdle just under a metre high next time you pull on your work boots.
